    Who is a candidate for becoming a real estate professional?

    Results of a “job happiness” survey conducted by Yahoo Finance and Parade magazine asked about job satisfaction. 59% of more than 26,000 working Americans wished they had chosen or would like to change their careers. Some are changing to real estate. Real Estate includes many opportunities; one of the main divisions is real estate sales.

    Once a new “rookie” is trained and gets some experience under their belt, they can fast track their income. There is a lot of flexibility in this profession. To be licensed and accredited in this profession does not take a long time as most other careers and a newly licensed real estate associate has the ability to earn a large income in a short period of time. It is really up to them how long it takes. One can be licensed and be attending training program within 100 days or less.

    Here is a list of the most important characteristics of a successful realtor:

    1. One must really enjoy people and have good people skills. Relating to others and being sensitive to their needs and feelings is important- just enjoying helping people.

    2. Follow up, follow up, follow up. it is hard to believe it, but many sales associates just drop people who contact them for real estate help. When people need a real estate professional they need attention at any given moment and the true professional must make him/herself available. One needs to call their customer back within hours not days.

    3. Details. Details are critical and make a huge difference. One must learn to focus on the details to make a transaction successful. This is very important business to the homeowner or purchaser. This could be one of the most important investments of their lives.

    4. Continuous learning and training. This separates the good from the great. One must affiliate with a Real Estate Company with a superb training program.
