Gainesville has a reason to be excited; The Drotos Ryals Group of Bosshardt Realty Services, LLC is pleased to announce that Square 1 Burgers & Bar plans to open in the University Towne Center in the old Maui Teriyaki building at 3105 SW 34th St at the end of the summer. In addition to its Tampa-based location, the burger chain now has two in Sarasota, Fort Myers, Brandon, and new location in St. Petersburg.
In addition to burgers, the full-serve restaurant also offers salads, sliders and shakes. Burgers range from $8 to $12. A full bar offers margaritas, martinis, alcoholic shakes and craft beers with happy hour appetizer specials` Tuesday – Thursday and drink specials every day. For your convenience, curbside pickup is available at each location.
Of course, the quality and popularity of Square 1 Burgers is no surprise, since the owners Bill Shumate and Joanie Corneil have owned and operated Bella’s Italian Café, the ever-popular restaurant in Tampa’s Hyde Park, for over 25 years. It’s considered one of the longest-standing, and one of the most popular, establishments in the area. Outlasting many trends and come-and-go concepts, Bella’s continues to be a favorite destination for those seeking distinct flavors of Italy.
In January, Mr. Shumate received the prestigious FRLA’s 2014 Restaurateur of the Year! Award. Hall of Fame Awards are given to individuals representing the industry. Qualifications for the prestigious Restaurateur Hall of Fame Award include having a personal record of industry achievement over a period of at least 20 years. Only those nominees who have attained career distinctions of the highest level and are held in high esteem for their distinguished service to their industry, community, charitable organizations and family were considered.
