    Dubbed the “Greatest Show on Earth,” the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus has become a must-see attraction for fans of all ages. When the ringmaster steps into the ring, you can experience the wonder of motorcycle high-wire acts, double-decker trapeze shows starring skilled acrobats, and clowns! Don’t miss your chance to catch the Circus.

    Gainesville Orchestra Concert
    Friday, Jan. 17th; 7:30 pm
    Santa Fe College Fine Arts Hall

    The Gainesville Orchestra’s performance will be a special evening of music, art, and nature, including the water paintings of Margaret Ross Tolbert. The orchestra will perform works by Bedrich Smetana, Richard Wagner, and feature Tan Dun’s Concerto for Water and Orchestra. Dun’s latest composition was premiered recently by the Philadelphia Orchestra.

    The Gainesville Sports Commission is proud to announce the running of the 7th edition of the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Track and Field Meet. Each year, the Jimmy Carnes Indoor Track and Field Meet produces some of the best marks of the US High School indoor season and top performances from Olympians and World Champions.

    Gator Baseball Preseason Prospect Camps
    Sunday, Jan. 19th; 10 am to 5 pm

    Once again The University of Florida baseball program is pleased to offer our preseason prospect baseball camps. The camps focus on the same basic fundamentals and mechanics in regard to hitting, pitching, and defensive skills that helped prepare the gators for the toughest conference in college baseball. This camp is designed for high school prospects graduating from 2014-2017. The camp will consist of hitting and fielding instruction covering the fundamentals and drills used by the Gator baseball team. The camp also consists of pitching instruction, in the areas of pitching mechanics, bull pen work, arm care, holding runners, and PFP fundamentals. The catchers will be instructed in the areas of receiving, blocking, throwing mechanics, as well as other fundamentals unique to the catching position. Also, the Gator baseball coaches will give specific instruction in the areas of infield and outfield play. Campers will also take part in a controlled scrimmage game. The cost of the camps is $100. Lunch is provided for the day. A Gator Baseball t-shirt is given to every camper. Check-in takes place 9:00 – 10:00 am. You must have all paperwork at this time, or the camper will not be able to participate. Register Online.

    28th Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire
    Jan. 25th – 26th & Jan. 31st – Feb. 2nd

    Medieval magic sweeps through Gainesville during the 28th Annual Hoggetowne Medieval Faire at the Alachua County Fairgrounds. Step back in time and cheer on jousting knights, and wander through the medieval marketplace where hundreds of artisans sell their medieval wares. Enjoy olde world games and rides and food fit for a king. Eight stages of entertainment include magicians, minstrels & more.
