February Community Events

    Can you believe it’s February already? Our community is always full of fantastic activities and this month is no different. If you enjoy the arts, Aida will at the Gainesville Community Playhouse. Be sure not to miss the Listen to your Heart 5K run is this Saturday at the Northeast Park. If you’re not a runner come on out anyway, cheer on the runners and enjoy the wonderful spring like weather with a picnic lunch; it’s supposed to be 80 and sunny!

    Listen to Your Heart 5K
    Saturday, February 1st at 8:00 am
    Northeast Park

    Kick off the month of February with our Third Annual Listen to Your Heart 5K ‘Red Tutu’ Run/Walk. Support the American Heart Association’s Go Red Women initiative with an easy, mostly flat, scenic run around the historic Duckpond neighborhood. The run begins at Gainesville’s beautiful Northeast Park.
    Professional chip timing services provided by Start2Finish Race Management.
    Advanced registration is only $20.

    Pathways Arts Wine Tasting FUNdraiser
    February 8th

    Meet us at the Hipp! We are hosting a fun wine tasting fundraiser event to spread the good news about our program and classes. The event will be held in the Art Gallery at the Hippodrome Theatre in Downtown Gainesville. Each tasting will be $10 for 4 different wines, $15 for reserve wines. You need not be a wine connoisseur. This is a fun, lighthearted event for all to enjoy. Children are welcome; must be 21 to participate in tasting.

    Jazz, Wine & Craft Beer Tasting at Embers Grill
    Sunday, February 9th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm

    Jazz, Wine & Craft Beer Tasting at Embers Wood Grill benefits GHS Baseball Program.
    Tickets are available at Embers Grill or Tower Dental Associates on Tower Road. Live Jazz performance by Marty Liquori and his Jazztet with over 20 varieties of wines and craft beers to taste. Delicious Embers appetizers to complement a great Sunday afternoon! Silent Auction items include Hammock Beach weekend package with golf, a three hour limo to St. Augustine, an Orlando Magic signed ball & more.

    Restore the Music Festival
    Saturday, February 22nd at 1:00 pm to Sunday, February 23rd

    KD Promotions LLC, A Proud Partner of VH1 Save the Music Foundation, presents Restore the Music Festival. There will be 150 bands and multiple stages. We are accepting submissions from musicians, vendors, sponsors/advertisers, and volunteers. Restore the Music Festival is open to all unsigned musicians with original music, and all genres of music. A portion of proceeds will benefit VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

    Expressions Learning Arts Academy: 15th Annual Arts in Education Benefit Gala
    Friday, February 28th from 6 pm – 11 pm

    A Midsummer’s Night Dream at the Thomas Center. Join us for an enchanting magical evening that will feature delicious food, wine, live music, dancing, entertainment and silent auction. Cash bar and wine tasting will be available.
